First produced in 1997, the ITOPF Handbook contains a wealth of valuable information and guidance for those likely to be involved in spills of oil and chemicals from ships. The 2008/2009 issue contains updated information on compensation, oil spill statistics and ITOPF staff, and includes sections on the fate and effects of oil spills, clean-up techniques and the organisation of spill response and planning. Copies of the ITOPF Handbook are available free to ITOPF Members and Associates, as well as to closely related groups. Single copies are also available to others on request - contact Terry Goodchild. Multiple copies are charged at £1 each, plus P&P.

A joint ITOPF / IPIECA briefing guide to the International Conventions on Liability and Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage. First published in 2000 and updated in 2004 and 2007, this 21 page Guide provides a summary of the fundamental features of the Conventions and comprises an explanatory text and a series of answers to commonly asked questions. Copies of the full report can also be downloaded from IPIECA's website.

A book, available in English, French, Spanish, Japanese and Korean, originally produced as support material for the series of training videos.

A guidance leaflet which summarises the findings of a study for the UK Marine Pollution Control Unit into possible methods for mitigating the impact of oil spills on mariculture facilities in the UK.
