ITOPF receives special certificate for its contribution to the work of IMO

ITOPF is delighted to have been awarded a certificate of special recognition for its work supporting the objectives of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).  The certificate, endorsed by the IMO Council, was presented to Dr Karen Purnell by Secretary-General Mr Kitack Lim at the IMO Awards Ceremony on Thursday 6th December, during the 100th session of the Maritime Safety Committee.

On accepting the certificate, Karen said “We are honoured to receive this recognition from IMO, cementing our long-standing relationship and many years of collaboration on a wide range of issues and projects.  It’s a very welcome tribute during an already eventful 50th anniversary year for ITOPF, and we look forward to continuing to work with the Secretariat and assisting Member States in building capacity, improving pollution preparedness and response, and implementing the provisions of IMO’s Conventions in the decades ahead”.
