ITOPF attends Marine360 Conference, Singapore
28 October 2025
As the shipping industry heads towards decarbonisation the adoption of alternatively fuelled vessels are on the rise, with increasing numbers listed on order books and the retrofitting of existing vessels continues.
The timescales for these changes, the potential new bunkering hotspots, and the key issues these fuels present in the maritime industry were discussed at the Marine 360 Conference in Singapore. One key point for discussion was the potential MEPC 83 decision to adopt the IMO net-zero framework, which has significant implications for the shipping industry and bunkering. Considering recent developments, this decision is now delayed and due to be reconsidered in January 2026.
Many of ITOPF's member and associate shipowners were in attendance with a keen interest in new developments in bunkering. It was useful for the ITOPF team members at the conference to listen to these discussions and understand the wider concerns of the shipping industry.
