Natálie Kirk

Natálie joined ITOPF as a Technical Adviser in December 2021 and is part of the Europe, Africa and Middle East team.

She has a BSc in earth sciences and a GradDip in economics.Prior to joining ITOPF, Natálie worked as a consultant for a natural resource governance institute in Myanmar and as an oil spill responder for a global spill response cooperative based in the UK. While working as a responder, Natálie gained hands on experience operating and maintaining spill response equipment and has been deployed to provide on-site and remote assistance on spills in the UK and abroad.  

Since joining ITOPF as Technical Adviser, Natálie attended spills in Peru, Sri Lanka and in the Philippines and worked alongside governments in West Africa to develop their national spill preparedness capabilities. In 2023/2024, Natálie completed a nine-month secondment in IMO’s Marine Environment Division, where her responsibilities included planning and implementation of OPRC technical cooperation activities in Africa and facilitation of working groups during the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) and the Sub-Committee on Pollution Preparedness and Response (PPR).
