ASEAN Regional Oil Spill Response & Preparedness Workshop, Kuala Lumpa, Malaysia, 17-19 December 2014

Richard Johnson will be attending the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) regional workshop hosted by the Government of Malaysia's Marine Department in collaboration with the IMO. The aim of the meeting is to support the objectives of the ASEAN OSRAP (Oil Spill Response Action Plan) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is currently being finalised, and to provide an update on technical developments in the field of preparedness and response.

The workshop is being organised within the framework of the Integrated Technical Cooperation Programme (ITCP) of the IMO and the IMO-IPIECA Global Initiative for South East Asia (GISEA), which aims to enhance the capacity of the Member countries of SE Asia to prepare for, and respond to, marine oil spills.

Attendees will comprise individuals from relevant national agencies who have responsibilities for dealing with pollution response matters, as well as industry representatives.
