Dr Mark Whittington will be participating in CANUSNORTH, an exercise of the Beaufort Sea Annex to the Canada-United States Joint Marine Pollution Contingency plan. This will be hosted by the United States Coast Guard in the city of Juneau, Alaska. One of the items that the exercise will focus on is the development of the Liaison Officer position that will facilitate coordinated response operations between the two countries. ITOPF will be bringing international experience of trans-boundary spills and exercises.
