International event on oil spills in Arctic areas, Oulu, Finland, 7-8 March 2018
Dr Franck Laruelle is attending an international Arctic event in the northern city of Oulu from 6-8 March 2018. The event will consist of both an oil recovery exercise in ice conditions and a parallel international conference focusing on pollution prevention aspects in the Arctic. The event is being run under the Agreement on Cooperation on Marine Oil Pollution Preparedness and Response in the Arctic (MOSPA) and the Copenhagen agreement. It is supported by the Finnish Ministry of the Foreign Affairs, Finnish Ministry of the Environment and the EPPR working group of the Arctic Council.
