ITOPF tours stakeholders in Japan

ITOPF spent time visiting locations of its key stakeholders in Japan to discuss ideas for future collaboration and providing updates on its recent work.

Ayumi Therrien attended the joint Japan Maritime Centre (JMC) and International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC Funds) seminar, where she delivered presentations on ITOPF's role in a maritime pollution event and the emerging challenges the spill response industry faces. Ayumi later joined a panel discussion on responding to spills of chemicals and Hazardous Noxious Substances and the challenges of attending transboundary pollution events.

ITOPF also met with more key stakeholders in the region, Britannia P&I Club in Kobe & Tokyo, SCUA MCO, Fukada salvage, and gave thanks to Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. (MOL) for delivering an extensive presentation on its Operation Supporting Centre.

Visits to Japan Coast Guard, CSA - Marine Surveyor, Marine Disaster Prevention Centre (MDPC), NYK Line, Petroleum Industry Marine Association of Japan (PIMA), ENEOS Ocean, and Japan P&I Tokyo and Kobe occurred also as ITOPF looks forward to continued engagement with these key stakeholders going forwards.
