ITOPF's series of Technical Information Papers (TIPs), providing practical guidance on oil and chemical spill response in the marine environment, is now available in Korean.
We are grateful to the Korean Coastguard (KCG) for their translation of the 17 papers, and to the Korea Marine Environment Management Corporation (KOEM) and the Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology (KIOST) for their additional assistance.
The TIPs are based on the experience of ITOPF's technical staff at 700 pollution incidents worldwide, including over 50 in South Korea. They also reflect recent developments and technological advances in spill response.
Dr Karen Purnell, ITOPF's Managing Director, commented "We are delighted that, with the kind support of KCG, ITOPF's technical expertise can now reach a far wider audience in a country that has experienced many spills, including the largest tanker spill in recent years, the HEBEI SPIRIT."
The new translations can be freely downloaded from the publications page of our website along with Chinese, Russian, French and English versions. Spanish TIPs are due later this year.
