Expert insight from ITOPF provided to Mexico National Oil spill exercise

ITOPF was invited by the Mexican Navy to participate in the National Oil Spill exercise taking place in Mexico City between 30th June and 3rd of July.

Senior Technical Adviser, Miguel Ciriero represented ITOPF and provided expert knowledge and advice throughout the three-day exercise, which included a feedback session where he joined a panel of international evaluators, including the US Coastguard.

The exercise proved to be an excellent opportunity for ITOPF to engage with pollution response stakeholders in Mexico, as part of on-going efforts to enhance the country’s preparedness to marine pollution incidents.
