ITOPF holds HNS response workshop at Steamship P&I Club, London

ITOPF visited Steamship Mutual P&I Club in London for an afternoon table-top exercise where the attendees planned and managed the response to an oil spill ​into the marine environment.

The exercise, designed by ITOPF, runs through the stages of managing a pollution response, from initial notification and information gathering to undertaking aerial surveillance in our Virtual Reality (VR) application, before deciding at-sea and shoreline resource deployment before submission of a clean-up claim. The exercise incorporates ITOPF's newly developed Mixed Reality (MR) application, which allows the users to choose the appropriate clean-up technique and deploy shoreline resources on several different virtual shoreline types.
